Untuk Cara Menginstal IDM 6.05 Build 1.

1. Setelah selesai mendownload program IDM dari situs resminya,Silahkan Instal Terlebih dahulu,selanjutnya Tutup/close program IDMnya pada system tray icon/pojok kanan bawah.
2. Buka File IDM605Build1.rarnya,lalu anda Extract dengan program Winrar.Ada 3 file diantaranya IDMan.exe,idmreg,dan read Me,silahkan anda baca Read Me terlebih dahulu.
   
3. Selanjutnya Buka file idmreg,ada opsi kurang lebih seperti ini "Are you sure you want to add..." Silahkan Pilih YES.
   
4. Kemudian silahkan anda letakkan IDMan.exe Pada Folder C:\Program Files\Internet Download Manager,akan muncul konfirmasi untuk replace/mengganti "This folder already....replace the.."Silahkan Pilih YES.
   
5. Teknik ini sebenarnya sangat mudah jika anda bisa menginstal/uninstal suatu program.Selain itu juga file yang saya berikan adalah file yang bersih dari Virus maupun trojan.

Lost password recovery for moodle

Do you have weak and often failing memory as I do? And what worse, have you forgotten password you are accessing your beloved Moodle with? It is catastrophe! Really?

I assume you know, that Moodle can send you new password in case you have forgotten the old one when you provide username or email you registrated.

But what to do, if you have forgotten absolute everything or your Moodle is not sending emails? (Maybe you are trying Moodle on your localhost without smtp settings etc.)


If you have access to database (phpmyadmin is most used) you are saved.

You need to run this query:

UPDATE `mdl_user` SET password = md5('newpassword') WHERE username = 'admin';

where newpassword is you new password and admin is a username of account you want to set that new password.

Or you can use this script from Shane Elliot:

* download it
* modify lines


$username = 'username';
$newpassword = 'newpassword';

* copy this file to your root moodle installation directory, same location as config.php and access this script with your browser (eg. "http://yourmoodleurl/passchange.php" )

Don't forget to delete this script after usage, it can create security issue!

I hope you regained your password and you are good to go with using Moodle once again ;).

Restore Panels In Ubuntu Back To Their Default Settings

Messed up your panels in Gnome? Maybe your new to Ubuntu and accidentally deleted items or the panel itself and now you can't figure out how to get it back.

Sure, you can add a new panel and rebuild it by adding the items back on the panel.

Instead of going through the trouble, there is an easy fix that will restore your panels back to their default settings quickly.

Open up a Terminal window, by clicking on Applications \ Accessories \ Terminal. Or, if you deleted the top panel and cannot access the menus, just press ALT+F2 and in the run dialog box, type gnome-terminal then click on Run.

You can also browse for applications, such as Terminal from the Run window, by clicking on the arrow icon next to 'Show list of known applications" and browse for Terminal.

Once the Terminal window opens, enter the following command at the prompt:

gconftool-2 --shutdown

(Note: There should be no spaces between the two dashes before shutdown.)

EDIT – Reader nickrud has suggested a better method instead of shutting down gconfd. Instead use the following command (thanks nickrud!)

gconftool --recursive-unset /apps/panel

(Remember: There should be no spaces between the two dashes before shutdown.)

Then enter the next command:

rm -rf ~/.gconf/apps/panel

And enter one more command:

pkill gnome-panel

That's it!

NOTE: This method will work in Gutsy Gibbon (7.10), Hardy Heron (8.04) and Lucid Lynx (10.04) version of Ubuntu.

Upgrade OpenOffice 2.0 ke OpenOffice 3.2

Salah satu hal yang saya sayangkan dari Ubuntu 7.04 adalah aplikasi office bawaannya yang masih menggunakan OpenOffice versi 2.0, OpenOffice versi 2.0 pun belum belum bisa membuka file Microsoft Office 2007 yang memiliki akhiran x seperti docx, xlsx, dan pptx di Linux Ubuntu. Saat ini sepertinya sudah tidak menjadi masalah lagi karena Open Office versi 3.2 sudah mendukung jenis file tersebut. Nah bagi Anda yang menginginkan mengganti/upgrade office bawaan dari versi 2.0 ke versi 3.2 ikuti saja langkah-langkahnya sebagai berikut

cara yang bisa Anda lakukan untuk melakukan proses upgrade :

1. Download aplikasi, Silahkan download aplikasi OpenOffice terbaru disini.


2. Buka Terminal, dan lakukan uninstall/remove OpenOffice yang lama dengan menggunakan perintah
   

   sudo apt-get remove openoffice*.*

3. Masuk ke folder tempat file download OpenOffice berada lalu ekstrak file OpenOffice yang baru Anda download dengan menggunakan perintah
   

   tar -xzvf nama_program, contoh :
   tar -xzvf OOo_3.2.1_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz

4. Setelah proses ekstrak berhasil, secara otomatis membentuk folder dengan nama tertentu, tergantung dari versi OpenOffice yang Anda download (Contoh folder yang terbentuk dari proses ekstrak adalah OOO320_m18_native_packed-1_en-US.9502), langkah berikutnya adalah install OpenOffice 3.0 dengan menggunakan perintah
   

   sudo dpkg -i OOO320_m18_native_packed-1_en-US.9502/DEBS/*.deb

5. Setelah semua file terinstall, langkah berikutnya adalah membuat shortcut di menu Ubuntu dengan menggunakan perinah
   

   sudo dpkg -i OOO320_m18_native_packed-1_en-US.9502/DEBS/desktop-integration/openoffice.org3.2-debian-menus_3.2-9502_all.deb
