Setting Layanan Offline Gmail

Layanan email gratisan terkenal Gmail.com memberikan layanan Offline untuk member email Gmail. Apa itu Gmail Offline, seperti kata Offline artinya anda penguna Gmail dapat membuka email yang telah didownload dan disimpan didalam computer. Selanjutnya email dari Gmail.com dapat dibaca tanpa koneksi internet. Google mencoba melangkah lagi dengan fasilitas Gmail.com untuk melawan Microsoft yang menyediakan fitur email dengan Exchange software.

Dengan fasilitas Gmail Offline, maka email dapat dibaca tanpa koneksi internet. Tampilannya seperti web Gmail saat anda membuka mail anda secara online, hanya data yang ada sudah disimpan ke harddisk computer. Bila anda perlu mengupdate email terbaru, cukup menghubungkan computer dengan internet dan mengambil data dari Gmail kembali.

Berikut ini cara setting di WEB sebelum anda menginstall program di komputer anda:

Masuk saja ke web Gmail.com lalu click bagian Setting. Dan pilih Labs.

Aktifkan dengan meng-click bagian Enable di Offline menu.

Simpan setting baru anda dan lanjutkan tahap ke 2 untuk meminta Gmail mengaktifkan fitur Offline. Click saja bagian Offline yang tertanda versi 0.1

Nantinya akan muncul sebuah Web dari Gears.Google.Com. Software ini lah yang akan diminta di download oleh Google dan bertanggung jawab untuk melakukan Sync data antara computer local dan data email di Gmail via Internet.

Setuju permintaan dari Gear Google dan proses terakhir anda diminta mendownload software untuk Gmail Offline.

Setelah selesai mendownload software Gear Google, jalankan software Gear.

Gear Google melakukan penarikan data email anda dari web Gmail ke dalam harddisk computer lokal Jangan menginstall software Gear ke computer publik seperti warnet. Karena software Gear melakukan sistem otomatis mengambil data dari Gmail kedalam computer. Bisa saja orang email anda dapat dilihat oleh orang lain ketika computer tidak terhubung ke Internet.

Selesai menginstall, anda diminta memilih untuk pembuatan Icon dari Gmail Offline melalui Software Gear Google. 3 pilihan seperti pembuatan Icon dari software Google Gear ke Desktop, Startup atau Quick Launch bar.

Tahap akhir proses pengambilan email dari Gmail Web ke Gmail Offline

Setelah selesai mendownload dan menginstall software Google Gear. Lanjutkan dengan tahap akhir untuk menyamakan data antara data dari Gmail web ke lokal computer.

Hubungan computer ke jaringan Internet (online), lalu anda click bagian atas pada layar Web Gmail, untuk meminta Sync data dari software Gear ke Web Gmail. Selesai proses anda bisa mematikan koneksi internet.

Menjalankan Gmail Offline akan tampil seperti gambar dibawah ini. Setelah proses pengambilan data dari web Gmail. Maka semua email anda akan disimpan di harddisk computer, sementara data email utama tetap berada di storage Gmail Web.

Untuk membaca Gmail Offline anda cukup memasukan nama login email anda, dan tidak memerlukan password seperti tampilan gambar dibawah ini. Selanjutnya email anda yang tadinya hanya bisa dibuka melalui Web base Gmail.com. Sekarang sudah berada didalam harddisk computer anda.

Melakuan Sync data atau menyamai data antara data di Web Gmail dengan computer

Untuk menyamakan data dari Gmail di Web dengan lokal computer. Anda harus terhubung kembali ke internet. Kembali mengaktifkan software Gears Google dan email Gmail akan terbuka via Gmail Web.

Gears Google akan menditeksi apakah computer sedang terhubung ke Internet atau tidak. Bila tidak terhubung ke Internet maka Gears akan menaktifkan email Gmail Offline. Ketika computer terhubung ke Internet maka software Gears akan mengaktifkan Email Gmail melalui Gmail Web.

Untuk melakukan penyamaan data atau Sync, anda cukup masuk ke Web Gmail . Pada bagian atas kanan terdapat gambar botol hijau. Tetapi click bagian kanan untuk melakukan Sync data Gmail

Bila email dari Gmail.com anda banyak sekali menerima email dan repot membaca satu persatu email melalui web, sementara koneksi internet tidak selalu Online. Gmail Offline dapat digunakan

Atau anda tidak memilih waktu untuk membaca email dari Gmail secara satu persatu, dan memilih untuk mengambil data email saja dari web Gmail. Maka Gmail Offline dapat dijadikan alternatif.

Gmail Offline membatasi pengiriman email sampai 10 ribu email yang bisa diambil, dengan urutan email terbaru.

Features

* Boots your PC with Windows XP Professional SP2. Most features you are used to are available in terms of Start Menu, Desktop, Windows Explorer, Registry, etc.

* Video support is provided by the VBEMP x86 Project which produced the Universal VESA/VBE Video Display Driver for Windows NT x86 Architecture that drives the video in the PE. This means that most people will see something, even if its not the highest resolution you are used to. For example, i have a 1440 x 900 screen that only gives me a max resolution of 1152 x 864 in the PE due to not supporting widescreen resolutions by default but that's still pretty good considering. The best resolution i've been able to get is 1280 x 1024 x 32 bit color. Those with flat panels with exactly this default resolution will have the best experience.

* Network and Mass Storage support is via the latest driverpacks from driverpacks.net -- they will work for most of the world's network cards (not wireless though sorry) and also the latest SATA drives. These network card drivers combined with PENetwork 0.39 (automatically starts and asks if you want to start networking) will get 99% of people with LAN network connections onto the net, if that is how you normally connect.

* Audio support is provided for most systems via the XPE project. The following cards are supported: Realtek AC97 base, kxAudio (SBLive/Audigy), Creative PCI, Creative SB16, Aureal Vortex 8810/8820/8830, VIA AC97, Intel 82801AA/AB/BA/CA AC97, SiS 7018, ALi Audio Accelerator, Crystal WDM, CS4281, ESS Allegro, Maestro, etc., Yamaha DS1, OPL3-SAx, Aztech 2320, NeoMagic MagicMedia, USB Audio, and also MS VMWare, and Virtual PC.

* USB device support is available for external hard drives, mice and keyboards but please plug-in prior to booting with the CD. All external hard disks should be recognized.

* Over 300 apps are available from the CD, the shortcuts are dynamically created at boot time. It's easy to add and subtract from this list to make your custom CD, just have a look inside the ppApps folder and work it out. To take out apps, just delete the folder. To add apps, just include the required files - use the existing folders to understand how it works. Then use the file inside the MakeCD folder to re-make the CD image.

* Boot SDI - The entire system directory for the OS is loaded into your RAM at boot time. This was achieved using the Boot SDI script in WinBuilder. This means you have a limited ability to install programs you wish to use for a PE session. The amount of space isn't huge, you only get 24 MB of free space for your system directories but this should be sufficient for most apps, the program files can go onto another drive. Anything that needs to reboot will not generally work but everything else should.

* Loading into your RAM also means a relatively short load time. It should only take 2 - 4 minutes, as opposed to 6 - 10 mins if you are booting directly from the CD. It is also a much more responsive system due to operating entirely inside your RAM as opposed to relying on a very slow connection between your CD drive and PC.

* A RAM disk is also created in addition to loading the system folders into RAM. This was set to allocate the size of the disk using a % based formula that allocates different amounts depending on how much you have actually available. Many applications will make use of this space and will be assigned to the B: drive. This is how it equates:

- 512 MB installed RAM will have a 60 MB RAM disk;
- 768 MB - 120 MB
- 1 GB - 171 MB
- 2 GB - 375 MB

* The following apps are integrated into the explorer shell: 7-Zip 4.57, CMD anywhere, Scanner 2.8, and WinRAR 3.71. Also, FoxitReader 2.2 will open PDF files automatically, and Irfan View will open all the files it recognizes which includes audio files and HEAPS of others. Also integrated were Windows Scripting (WSH), Visual Basic (VB6), and AutoIT (au3).

* The following apps are loaded automatically on booting: Unlocker 1.86, and PowerMenu 1.51.

System Requirements

System Minimum Requirements:

* Any computer that can normally run XP, with at least 512 MB of RAM to have all features available. This may also run on systems with only 384 but it won't be very usable. It defintely won't work on a system with only 256 MB.
* A CD or DVD drive (the faster the better).

System Recommended Requirements:

* Any computer that can normally run XP with at least 1024 MB of RAM. All features and applications will work.

setting pop email client pada handphone dengan account gmail

Berikut ini akan saya coba tuliskan cara pengaturan POP email client pada HP Nokia dengan account Gmail sebagai mailbox nya. Untuk jenis dan versi dari OS masing-masing HP tentu memberikan panel kontrol yang berbeda. Namun pada intinya pengisian parameternya tidak akan jauh berbeda.

Langkah-langkahnya adalah:

1. Masuk ke Menu Messaging ---> Klik Option ---> Setting ---> Email
2. Pada Menu Mailboxes Plih Option ---> New Mailbox (pada beberapa handphone yang lebih baru terdapat wizard pengaturan. Dan apabila tidak terdapat wizar pengaturan, maka ini dapat juga dilakukan secara manual) --->start wizard
3. Akan ditanyakan protocol yang akan kita gunakan ---> dalam hal ini pilih POP3 ---> next
4. Isi e-mail address anda ---> misal : emailku@gmail.com ---> next
5. Isi IP Address atau Host Name untuk incoming mail server ---> isi pop.gmail.com ---> next
6. Isi IP Address atau Host Name untuk outgoing mail server ---> isi smtp@gmail.com ---> next
7. Access yang akan dipilih ---> terdapat pilihan : apabila akan melakukan koneksi harus memilih koneksi atau pilih saja koneksi jaringan kartu anda ---> misal Telkomsel, XL, Indosat dll ---> next
8. Buat nama Mailbox ---> nama Mailbox ini akan menjadi folder di menu messaging handphone ---> isi Gmail agar kita mengetahui folder mailbox tersebut merupakan email dari account email Gmail yang kita miliki.
9. Selesai / Finish

Kembali ke menu awal Messaging ---> akan terlihat mailbox yang tadi kita buat yaitu Gmail ---> klik Gmail untuk masuk ke mailbox ---> klik option ---> pilih email setting ---> akan terlihat menu Connection settings, User setting, Retrieval settings dan Automatic retrieval.

1. Connection settings ---> terdapat Incoming e-mail dan Outgoing e-mail
   Incoming e-mail ---> biasanya setting telah terisi seperti yang telah kita isi sewaktu pembuatan Mailbox diatas, apabila belum maka isikan:
   
   • User name ---> isikan user name, misal: emailku
   • Password ---> isikan password Gmail anda.
   • Incoming mail server ---> isi pop.gmail.com
   • Access point in use ---> pilih jaringan kartu yang anda gunakan, misal Telkomsel,XL, Indosat dll
   • Mailbox name ---> isi Gmail apabila belum terisi
   • Mailbox type ---> isi POP3 apabila belum terisi
   • Security (port) ---> isi SSL atau kadang terdapat pilihan, pilih SSL/TLS
   • Port ---> pilih user defined ---> isikan 995
   • APOP secure login ---> pilih off .
   • Selesai.
   Outgoing e-mail ---> biasanya setting telah terisi seperti yang telah kita isi sewaktu pembuatan Mailbox diatas, apabila belum maka isikan:
• My e-mail address ---> isi email address Gmail anda, misal: emailku@gmail.com
• User name ---> isikan user name Gmail anda, misal: emailku
• Password ---> isikan password Gmail anda.
• Outgoing mail server ---> isi smtp.gmail.com
• Access point in use ---> pilih jaringan kartu yang kita gunakan, misal Telkomsel,XL, Indosat dll
• Security (port) ---> isi TLS atau kadang terdapat pilihan, pilih SSL/TLS
• Port ---> pilih user defined ---> 587 (untuk beberapa e-mail client, port yang digunakan kadang-kadang 465).
• Selesai
2. User settings ---> My name : isi nama, misal: Rias ---> send message : pilih terserah anda ---> send copy to self : pilih Yes atau No ---> Include signature : pilih Yes atau No ---> New email alert : On / Off ---> Selesai
3. Retrieval settings ---> disini kita dapat memilih apakah email yang kita terima hanya judul saja, dibatasi limit email , seluruh email beserta lampiran atau Jumlah e-mail yang akan kita terima (seluruhnya atau 5 saja terserah anda)
4. Automatic retrieval ---> Disini kita bisa memilih apakah email akan diterima secara otomatis, atau akan dilakukan secara manual.

Pengaturan Pop email client tersebut tidak akan bisa digunakan, atau dengan kata lai tidak akan terkoneksi dengan inbox Gmail kita apabila kita tidak melakukan pengaktifkan pop pada web mail gmail. Caranya:

1. Masuk ke account Google mail anda lewat browser pada PC seperti biasa,
2. Pada bagian kanan atas (berdekatan dengan menu sign out) klik shortcut setting/pengaturan
3. Pilih tab Meneruskan dan POP/IMAP
4. Isikan Teruskan salinan yang masuk ke, dengan alamat Gmail anda misal : emailku@gmail.com
5. Pilih opsi aktifkan pop/imap
6. Simpan pengaturan
7. Selesai.

bootvis adalah salah satu software/program gratisan yang dapat digunakan untuk mempercepat booting Windows Xp. file bootvis inipun terbilang kecil 967 KB. Langkah-langkahnya seperti berikut ini:

1. Download Bootvis disini. Kemudian install.
2. Setelah itu buka Bootvis, klik Trace - Next Boot + Driver Delays. Klik OK. Maka PC akan merestart sendiri.
3. Setelah kembali masuk windows, Bootvis akan terbuka dan menampilkan hasil analisanya.
4. Kemudian klik Trace - Optimize System - klik Reboot Now. Maka PC kembali direstart.
5. Setelah kembali masuk windows, Bootvis akan terbuka dan akan mengoptimalkan sistem. Tunggu sampai prosesnya selesai.
   

Setelah selesai restart kembali PC Anda, booting masuk ke Windows akan menjadi lebih cepat.

Kenapa menggunakan cache proxy (Squid 2.7.STABLE5)? Dengan cache proxy, pada situs-situs yang sering kita kunjungi, content yang harus didownload dan mengurangi jatah quota kita akan lebih sedikit. Karena content-content tersebut akan tersimpan dahulu di cache proxy kita. Jadi secara tidak langsung, jika kita mengunjungi situs tersebut berulang kali, sama saja kita mendownload content dari komputer yang terinstall proxy kita. Kesimpulannya.. lebih cepat dan lebih ngirit bandwidth.

proses instalasinya

1. Download dulu Squid Proxy 2.7 Stable5 untuk Windows
2. Extract file tersebut di partisi mana saja.. terserah, dimana saja boleh. Untuk mempermudah langkah-langkah instalasinya, bisa disamakan dengan saya, atau extract di “C:\squid\“
3. Setelah semua ter-extract, masuk ke folder “C:\squid\etc\“. Disana terdapat file-file konfigurasi squid :
- cachemgr.conf.default
- mime.conf.default
- squid.conf.default
- squid_radius_auth.conf.default
Kemudian rename keempat file tersebut dengan menghilangkat tulisan “.default“. Sehingga menjadi:
- cachemgr.conf
- mime.conf
- squid.conf
- squid_radius_auth.conf

4. Setelah selesai me-rename keempat file tersebut, kemudian buka file “squid.conf” dengan notepad atau editor kesayangan anda(EditPlus, Ultra Edit, Notepad ++, dan lain-lain).
5. Cari tulisan (CTRL+F) “TAG: http_port“, kemudian cek apakah di bawah tulisan “# Squid normally listens to port 3128” sudah ada tulisan “http_port 3128” atau belum, jika belum tambahkan tulisan “http_port 3128” di bawah tulisan “# Squid normally listens to port 3128“.
   Sehingga menjadi:
# TAG: http_port
# Usage: port [options]
# hostname: port [options]
# 1.2.3.4: port [options]
# If you run Squid on a dual-homed machine with an internal
# and an external interface we recommend you to specify the
# internal address: port in http_port. This way Squid will only be
# visible on the internal address.

6. Cari tulisan (CTRL+F) “TAG: visible_hostname“, kemudian cek apakah di bawah tulisan “# none” sudah ada tulisan “visible_hostname localhost” atau belum. Jika belum, tambahkan tulisan “visible_hostname localhost” di bawah tulisan “# none“.
   Sehingga menjadi:
   # TAG: visible_hostname
   # If you want to present a special hostname in error messages, etc,
   # define this. Otherwise, the return value of gethostname()
   # will be used. If you have multiple caches in a cluster and
   # get errors about IP-forwarding you must set them to have individual
   # names with this setting.
   #

7. Cari tulisan (CTRL+F) “http_access allow localnet“, kemudian cek apakah dibawah tulisan “http_access allow localnet” sudah terdapat tulisan “http_access allow localhost” atau belum. Jika belum tambahkan tulisan “http_access allow localhost” di bawah tulisan “http_access allow localnet“.
   Sehingga menjadi:
   # Example rule allowing access from your local networks.
   # Adapt localnet in the ACL section to list your (internal) IP networks
   # from where browsing should be allowed
   http_access allow localnet
   http_access allow localhost
8. Cari tulisan (CTRL+F) “TAG: dns_nameservers“, kemudian dibawahnya pada tulisan “dns_nameservers“, isi value dns dengan dns ISP nya masing-masing, atau dengan DNS yang biasanya anda gunakan. Sehingga formatnya menjadi “dns_nameservers [primary DNS] [secondary DNS]“.
   Contohnya ditempat saya menggunakan OpenDNS, sehingga menjadi “dns_nameservers 208.67.220.220 208.67.222.222“.

   Kalo mo pake DNS laen silakan, perintahnya tinggal diganti jadi : “dns_nameservers ***.***.***.*** ***.***.***.***“
   
   Sehingga menjadi:

   Simpan (CTRL+S) “squid.conf” yang baru saja kita edit tadi.
9. Buka “Command Prompt“, Atau Klik Start > Run > ketik "CMD" > OKkemudian masuk ke directory “squid” tadi melalui “Command Prompt”. Contohnya adalah dengan mengetik “cd C:\squid\sbin\“.
   C:\>cd c:\squid\sbin\
   C:\squid\sbin>
10. Setelah masuk ke directory “cd C:\squid\sbin\” melalui command prompt, kemudian ketik “squid -z“.
    C:\squid\sbin>squid -z

11. Masih di “command prompt”, ketik “squid -d I -D“, kemudian tekan “CTRL+C“. (I : gunakan huruf i kapital)

12. Masih di “command prompt”, ketik “squid -i”

    Registry stored HKLM\SOFTWARE\GNU\Squid\2.6\Squid\ConfigFile value c:/squid/etc/
    squid.conf
    Squid Cache version 2.7.STABLE5 for i686-pc-winnt
    installed successfully as Squid Windows System Service.
    To run, start it from the Services Applet of Control Panel.
    Don’t forget to edit squid.conf before starting it.

13. Dan yang terakhir (masih di command prompt), ketik “squid -O -D”
    C:\squid\sbin>squid -O -D
    Registry stored HKLM\SOFTWARE\GNU\Squid\2.6\Squid\CommandLine value -D
    C:\squid\sbin>
14. Untuk menghidupkan proxy, masuk ke “Control Panel” -> “Administrative Tools” -> “Services“ Atau Klik Start > Run > ketik "services.msc" > OK. Kemudian cari nama services “squid” -> “Klik kanan” -> “Start“
15. Arahkan proxy pada browser anda ke alamat “localhost” dengan port “3128“. Mozilla setting : Tools > Options > Advance > Network > Settings > Pilih Manual Proxy configuration > Masukin HTTP Proxy : localhost Port : 3128 > pilih use this proxy server for all protocols > OK > OK
16. Test dengan mengunjungi situs-situs yang sering anda buka.
    Jika Anda tidak ingin menggunakan Squid lagi, anda juga bisa menghapus services squid tersebut dengan cara mengetikkan perintah “squid -r -n squid” di Command Prompt.
    C:\squid\sbin>squid -r -n squid
    Service squid deleted successfully.
